Cole County Deputies Arrest Two In Pursuit

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department arrested 2 people following a car chase on U.S. Business 50 at around 11:43 last night. [Tuesday]

The 17 minute chase ended after a deputy placed a spike strip on Horner Street by Counry Club Drive. The tires deflated, but the driver kept going until the tires went to rims.

The driver was on probation for robbery and was in possession of a firearm. The passenger was found to have drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.

Both were taken to the Cole County Jail to await charges filed by the prosecutor.
