KWWR Sports Report 10/13/22
The National League Divisional Series is all knotted up at 1 each.
The Braves shut out the Phillies last night (Wednesday) in Atlanta 3 to nothing, tying their series at 1 each.
The Padres got revenge for Tuesday night’s loss by beating the Dodgers 5 to 3 last night (Wednesday).
The NLDS continues tomorrow (Friday) after a day off today (Thursday).
The American League Divisional Series continues today.
This afternoon, it’s Houston hosting the Mariners with a 1-0 series lead.
Tonight’s matchup sees Cleveland trying to even up the series with Yankees in New York.
High School softball district action is underway in Missouri and a number of area teams are in contention.
In Class 1, New Franklin and Slater play for the District 6 championship, for District 7, it’s Van-Far playing Clopton tonight in semifinal action as is Community R-VI as they battle Silex, and for District 8, the championship will go to either Northeast Randolph in Cairo or Salisbury at the end of tonight’s game.
In Class 2, the District 2 championship game is tonight between Iberia and Eugene while Montgomery County and Valley Park vie for the championship of District 4 tonight.
In Class 2 District 3, Fayette and North Callaway are in semifinal action tonight as are Russellville and New Bloomfield; Monroe City and Louisiana are in semifinal action for District 5 tonight.
For Class 3, it’s all semifinal action as Fulton takes on Palmyra and Mexico faces Bowling Green in District 3 while District 4 action sees Hallsville vs Centralia and Macon against Father Tolton.
For Class 4 District 5, the championship could be a cross-town rivalry in Jefferson City as semifinal action has Capital City taking on Warrensburg and Jefferson City facing Helias.
For Class 5 District 4 Troy-Buchanan is playing Francis Howell tomorrow afternoon for the championship and in District 6, Rock Bridge is facing Grain Valley with the winner advancing to the championship to take on either Blue Springs or Blue Springs South in the championship.
