KWWR Sports Report 10/3/22

The last regular season home game at Busch Stadium yesterday saw history made once again. Albert Pujols hit home run number 702 and tied Babe Ruth for second on the all-time RBI list with 2,214.

Pujols smacked a 2-run double in the first and Molina brought him home with a fly to left to get off to a 3-0 lead.

Molina and Adam Wainwright started for the 328th time and came off the field together with Pujols in the fifth inning to a standing ovation by the crowd.

The Cards ultimately lost to the Pirates 7 to 5.

The Royals’ season is coming to an end with just 3 games left following yesterday’s loss to the Guardians, 7 to 5.

In a rematch of the Super Bowl of two years ago last night in Tampa, the outcome was vastly different.

The last time Patrick Mahomes faced off against Tom Brady, the Bucs came away with a 31-9 rout of the Chiefs.

Last night, Mahomes made NFL history by reaching 20,000 yards faster than anyone else in the 41 – 31 win over the Buccaneers.

Mahomes had a 16-yard throw to Kelce, a 1-yard toss to Edwards-Helaire and a 10-yard throw to Jody Fortson, all for touchdowns.

The Chiefs are at home a week from tonight taking on the Raiders in Monday Night Football.
