The Mexico Bulldogs High School Baseball team notched a 7-1 victory over the Fulton Hornets last night (Wednesday).

The Bulldogs tallied 12 hits in total including a big inning that was driven by singles from Daeye Miller, Tyler Thoenen and Jack Wilburn and a double by Brock Smythe.

Wilburn was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs. He surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings and struck out one.

Mexico stole seven bases during the game. Quayvon Belcher led the way with two.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-2 on the season.

Up next Mexico plays North Callaway on Monday, April 11th.

The St. Louis Cardinals will open the regular season today (Thursday) at Busch Stadium when they play the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Albert Pujols, Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright are back together, and they will start Opening Day together for the first time since 2009.

First pitch is set for 3:15.

The Kansas City Royals will also open the season at home today (Thursday) when they face the Cleveland Indians. Zack Greinke takes the hill for the Royals.

Game starts at 3:10.

The Missouri Tigers Baseball team took out the Kansas Jayhawks 14-6 last night (Wednesday) in a Border War clash in Columbia.

Mizzou scored seven runs in the first two innings in a packed Taylor Stadium.

The Tigers now move to 18-8 on the season and will travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee, the number 1 team in the country in a weekend series that starts tomorrow night (Friday).

The St. Louis Blues defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-1 at the Enterprise Center last night (Wednesday).

Blues goalie Ville Husso made 28 saves.

The Blues are 5-0-1 in their past six games and have moved to within one point of the Minnesota Wild for second place in the Central.
