Mexico Lady Bulldogs Soccer Team Takes Third Place in First Ever Chris Hotop Classic

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs soccer team took 3rd place in the first ever Chris Hotop Classic at the Mexico High School on Saturday.

Mexico lost 2-1 to Owensville in the first game.

Katie Gooch scored a goal in the game with the assist to Estrella Lopez.

Mexico then defeated East Kansas City 6-0 in the third place game.

Goals came from Wyndee Bohr, Lizzie Joiner, Shelby Kennemore, Paige Myers, Jamilet Medina-Lucas and Estrella Lopez. Assists from Estrella Lopez, Shelby Kennemore and Emily Moppin.

Mexico goalie Tessa Haefling earned her first shutout of the season.

Chillicothe won the tournament 4-2 over Owensville.

The Lady Bulldogs are back in action against Wright City tonight (Monday).
