Search On For Convicted Murderer After Car Pursuit in Callaway County

A search is ongoing for a convicted murderer who ran away on foot after taking Callaway County Deputies on a vehicle pursuit on Saturday.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department the suspect is identified as Stephen Thorp, who is on supervised parole for second-degree murder and domestic assault.

The search began on Saturday afternoon around 4:30 near County Road 161 and County Road 142 in Williamsburg.

Callaway County Deputies along with Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers have transitioned to a roving patrol search for Thorp and will be increasing patrols in the area.
