Mexico Public Safety Responds to Early Morning House Fire in the Five Hundred Block of South Washington

Smoke and water damage along with a hole in the roof of a house is being reported after a residential fire early this morning (Thursday) in the 500 block of South Washington in Mexico.

According to Mexico Public Safety they responded to the fire just before 2am.

A fire was found above the ceiling and behind the walls of the second floor of the home.

The residents reported hearing the furnace shut off and the circuit breaker for the furnace trip.

When they went to check the circuit panel, they saw smoke coming from behind the wall.

There were no injuries from the incident.
