New Franklin Police Chief To Step Down

The New Franklin Police Chief is announcing plans to step down.

In a Facebook post yesterday Mike Wise said the city decided to cut his staff and only have 2 full time officers.

He went on to say in April of 2019 they lost a full time officer and with the financial crisis the city elected not to fill that position, leaving a patrol to him 24/7.

Wise told the New Franklin City Council he had been offered a conditional offer of employment elsewhere, and as soon as his background check is complete, he plans to resign.

Wise has been the police chief for around 5 years.
