Missouri Abortion Clinic Hearing
A ruling on a hearing about whether or not Missouri’s only abortion clinic can remain open is not expected until February at the earliest.
Opening statements and testimony were heard yesterday (Monday) before a commissioner with the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission.
Missouri would become the first state since 1974, the year after the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, without a functioning abortion clinic if the license is allowed to be revoked.
Republican Governor Mike Parson signed legislation in May banning abortions at or beyond 8 weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for medical emergencies but not for rape or incest.
