Royal Inn Walkway Problem leads To Evacuation

A damaged walkway at Royal Inn off of Interstate 70 led to the evacuation of guests this afternoon. [Monday]

Although the walkway did not completely collapse, a building inspector determined there was enough damage to order the evacuation.

The building will go through a structural inspection before guests and employees will be permitted to go back in.

The Columbia Fire Department and the American Red Cross are working to find guests a place to stay.
