The Awards Assembly at Mexico High School this morning [Friday] included more scholarships for students than initially thought, exceeding 1 million dollars.

According to Gail Lankford in the guidance office, more money came in unexpectedly raising the scholarship total to $1,012,754.

This is one of the highest total scholarship amounts ever earned, and it was accomplished by a class of only 150.

The graduates will walk across the stage on Monday.
