Columbia Police have taken a thirteen year old male into custody over the weekend due to a social media post that was deemed threatening to community members.

Columbia police report they were told of a social media post that appeared to threaten a middle school in the Columbia Public School District.

Police investigated and identified who posted the message and then contacted the boys parent, who cooperated.

The investigation revealed there was no credible threat, the boy was taken into custody on Saturday for a Misdemeanor Peace Disturbance, and the Boone County Juvenile Office is now in charge of the disposition.
