An investigation is continuing after a shooting in Jefferson City on Tuesday night.

Police say it happened in the area of West McCarty and Hart Streets.

Witnesses say a car was leaving the area at a high rate of speed, and when officers stopped the car an 18 year old was found with a non-life threatening wound to his stomach.

Officers say that neither the victim nor any of the the other 3 in the car would cooperate and provide information about the shooting.

Police report after a search they found a hand gun and a container of marijuana in the 1200 block of West McCarty Street.

Jefferson City Police ask anyone with information to call them or Crimestoppers.
