KWWR Sports Report 5/22/23

The Community R-VI Trojans will try to punch their ticket into the Quarterfinals of the Class 1 State Baseball Tournament when they play Northland Christian in Kansas City tonight (Monday).

First pitch is at 4pm.

The Missouri Tigers softball season came to an end on Saturday in the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers were shut-out 11-0 by the #1 seeded Oklahoma Sooners.

That set up a rematch between Mizzou and California.

The Tigers lost 7-5.

The St. Louis Cardinals doubled up the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 10-5 victory at Busch Stadium yesterday (Sunday).

Redbirds slugger Oscar Mercado put up five RBIs, wile Paul Dejong hit his 7th home run of the season and recorded four RBI.

St. Louis has won 11 of their last 14 games, and during the stretch have moved out of the National League Central cellar for the first time since April 24 and into a third-place tie with the Chicago Cubs.

The Kansas City Royals lost to the Chicago White Sox 5-2.
