Thomas Peuster to Receive Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation Scholarship
The Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation Scholarship selection committee announces the 2023 recipient of the scholarship to a Mexico High School student.
An outstanding member of the senior class, Thomas Peuster, son of Brian and Lillie Peuster, has been selected to receive the $7,500 annual scholarship, which is renewable for a total of four years. The Green Foundation has established this scholarship to assist deserving and qualified students in obtaining an excellent education. Mr. Peuster will pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Benedictine University.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen P. Green established the Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation in 1941. Mr. Green moved to Mexico, Missouri, in 1910 and purchased the firebrick company that retained his name until it was sold in 1997. Recognizing the contribution of the A. P. Green Fire Brick Company to the community, and the contributions of the people of the community to the success of the company, the Green Foundation established this scholarship.
Larry Webber, Chair of the Green Foundation Scholarship Committee said, “Mr. Peuster is an exceptional student and very deserving of this honor. We are extremely proud to name him as the 2023 recipient of the Green Foundation Scholarship. We hope this scholarship will be of important assistance as he pursues his college degree, and we believe he will be an ambassador that will make the Mexico Community proud.”
