Mexico Man Sentenced to Federal Prison
A 23-year old Mexico man is now sentenced for distributing methamphetamine.
Myron Samare Mahaney will spend just over 7 years in federal prison without parole after pleading guilty last November to the distribution charge and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from a pursuit where Mahaney fled from troopers into Jefferson City and then fled on foot.
When officers caught him, he was in possession of a bag containing roughly 219 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia, two loaded handguns and had $2,500 in his front pocket.
The driver of the car that Mahaney was in, 25-year old Malik Miller of Mokane, pled guilty in Cole County to being an accessory to trafficking drugs, resisting arrest and weapons charges.
