Storm Reports From Audrain County, Callaway County and Boone County

No major storm damage or injuries were reported following severe weather that passed through Audrain County on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

Storm sirens sounded in Mexico at around 4:15 on Sunday afternoon.

The Hawthorne Elementary Gym was opened as a storm shelter after a tornado warning was issued.

The Audrain County Sheriff’s office received reports of a few trees down in the area.

A Hallsville resident reported storm damage two miles east of Hallsville.

According to the caller the storms that hit the area yesterday (Sunday) caused damage to a roof of a home, knocked down a shed, turned over a car hauler and knocked down numerous trees.

Fulton outdoor warning sirens were out of service during severe weather yesterday (Sunday) due to a technical malfunction.

Callaway County Emergency Management said crews were dispatched to resolve the issue.

The Callaway County Emergency Management recommends residents have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, including a NOAA weather radio and wireless emergency alerts.

The City of Columbia suffered storm damage to the northern part of the city after a severe storm hit Mid-Missouri yesterday (Sunday) afternoon and last night that left thousands of residents without power.

The National Weather Service is expected to be in Boone County today (Monday) to assess damage from the storms.

The Columbia Fire Department reported damage in the areas of Creasy Springs and Paris Road.

The department responded to around 30 calls for service, including damage to about five homes and several city buildings.

Columbia Public Works Street Division crews responded to downed trees, street debris and temporary street flooding.

Recycling pickup has been suspended indefinitely by the City of Columbia after its Material Recovery Facility was damaged in yesterday’s storm.

The facility is where recycled material gets sorted, compressed, and shipped to a processing facility.

The recycling drop-off centers will also be closed and unavailable to the public.
