In high school baseball on Monday, April 14, 2025:

  • St. Elizabeth shut out South Callaway 9-0
  • Tolton defeated Lutheran St. Charles 12-2
  • Jefferson City blanked Kirksville 12-0
  • Mexico run ruled North Callaway 15-2
  • Moberly shut out Chillicothe 4-0
  • Eugene took down Prairie Home 11-0
  • California bested Belle 11-3
  • Russellville cruised past Lincoln 15-5
  • Salisbury wins 15-1 over Paris

The Southern Boone High School has named Tyler Tanner as the new head football coach for the 2025-2026 school year.

Tanner brings over a decade of coaching and teaching experience to the role.

He spent the past 10 years at Westran, serving as the offensive coordinator for nine seasons and head baseball coach for five years.

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Houston Astros 8-3 in their series opening game at Busch Stadium on Monday, April 14, 2025.

The Cardinals offense was led by Brendan Donovan who went 4-4 at the plate.

Nolan Arenado went 3-4 with two doubles and a home run.

Redbirds starting pitcher Sonny Gray pitched seven shutout innings and improved to 3-0 on the season.

The Kansas City Royals lost 4-1 to the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Bobby Witt Jr. provided the Royals their only run in the game by hitting his second homer of the season.

The St. Louis Blues host the Utah Hockey Club with the chance to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

If the Blues win in regulation they are in the playoffs.

Anything but that, and they will need a little help from other teams to lock up their spot.
