KWWR Sports Report 4/8/2025

The Mexico High School baseball team lost 2-1 to the Moberly Spartans in Mexico on Monday, April 7, 2025.

The Bulldogs out hit the Spartans seven to four.

Landon Hilderman and Sam Ryan each collected two hits for Mexico.

Chance McCarty went 1-for-2 at the plate and collected an RBI.

Bulldogs starting pitcher Austin Maxwell went seven innings, striking out one batter.

Mexico’s Cassandra Young had 22 saves on the night.

The Mexico High School boys tennis picked up their first win of the season with a 5-4 victory over Columbia Independent School.

Redbirds slugger Mason Winn hit a home run in the loss.

The Kansas City Royals beat the Minnesota Twins 4-1 at the K.

The win pulled Kansas City to 5-5 on the season.

The St. Louis Blues franchise record 12-game winning streak ended with a 3-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Monday, April 7, 2025.

It was the longest winning streak in the NHL this season, surpassing the Jets, who won 11 straight from January 22nd through February 27th.

The Florida Gators claimed the NCAA Men’s National Championship with a 65-63 victory over Houston.

Monday night marked Florida’s third national championship since 2006.
