Mexico Man Arrested After Taking Audrain County Sheriff’s Deputies on High Speed Chase

A Mexico man was taken to the Audrain County Jail after an arrest where he is accused of taking Audrain County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed chase.

According to the news release at a around 9:42pm on Monday, Mar. 10, 2025, Audrain County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Missouri Route Z on the report of a suspicious vehicle.

While responding to the area, Sheriff’s Deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the reported suspicious vehicle along Missouri Route J and attempted a vehicle stop.

According to the news release the driver failed to yield to the deputy’s emergency lights and audible siren and began fleeing at a high rated of speed and turned off their headlights.

Near Missouri Route J and Missouri Route MM the driver crashed their vehicle and fled on foot.

A search of the area was completed, however, the driver was not located.

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Audrain County Joint Communications began receiving reports of a suspicious person walking along Missouri Route KK and Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and found Joshua William Julius who was arrested.

During the encounter, Julius was arrested for the above incident and was transported to the Audrain County Jail on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention
  • Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony
  • Driving While Suspended/Revoked
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless & Imprudent Manner – Resulting in Accident
  • Failure to Register Motor Vehicle with Director of Revenue
  • Displaying or Possessing the License Plate of Another
