North Callaway High School Student Among Winners in Callaway County Chamber of Commerce 2024 Show Me Innovation Pitch Competitions

On Friday, November 1st, the Callaway Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the 2024 Show-Me Innovation Pitch Competitions, bringing together creative minds from across the community.

The event was held at Westminster College and featured three competitions: the 9th Annual Show-Me Innovation Pitch Competition for adults, presented by The Callaway Bank; the 3rd Annual Show-Me Innovation Collegiate Pitch Competition, presented by the SBDC at Lincoln University; and the 2nd Annual Show-Me Innovation Teen Competition, presented by the Callaway Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development.

Participants competed for substantial financial awards and prize packages designed to support the growth and success of their business ventures.

Winners of the Show-Me Innovation Pitch Competition:

  • 1st Place ($3,000) – Flutter Lash Lounge, Alissa Kendrick

Flutter Lash Lounge empowers individuals by enhancing their natural beauty through lash extensions and permanent cosmetics. With her prize package and funding, Alissa plans to establish a permanent cosmetics and lash studio in Callaway County, building on her completed apprenticeship.

  • 2nd Place ($1,500) – Killer Sweet Desserts, Allison Pawlish

Killer Sweet Desserts specializes in gourmet baked goods, ranging from morning sweets to afternoon treats. Allison will use her prize package and funding to acquire a mobile cart, expanding her presence at community events.

Winners of the Show-Me Innovation Collegiate Pitch Competition:

  • 1st Place ($2,000) – Inn by Ally, LLC, Alyson Hollrah

Alyson Hollrah, a student at William Woods University, Inn by Ally, LLC, manages a diverse portfolio of rental properties. Alyson will utilize her prize package and funding to make strategic renovations, enhancing the quality and appeal of her rental offerings.

  • 2nd Place ($1,000) – Pure Life Community, Kenny Angeles and Latham Logue.

Kenny Angeles and Latham Logue, Students at Westminster College, Pure Life Community aims to provide affordable, high-quality housing for families in Callaway County. With their prize package and funding, Kenny and Latham will invest in their first rental property, laying the groundwork for a 70-unit housing development.

Winners of the Show-Me Innovation Teen Pitch Competition:

  • 1st Place ($750) – Social Solutions, Isabelle Borcherding

Isabelle Borcherding, student at North Callaway High School, Social Solutions offers a comprehensive range of marketing services. Isabelle will use her prize package and funding to invest in essential startup equipment, preparing her business for a successful launch.

  • 2nd Place ($250) – Homemade by Bry, Bryli DeLashmutt

Homeschooled Homemade by Bry provides handcrafted baked goods and crocheted items. Bryli plans to use her prize package and funding to purchase inventory and equipment, ensuring she is ready to meet holiday demand.
