The St. Louis Cardinals lost 4-1 to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

Nolan Arenado provided the Cardinals with their lone run by smashing a home run a projected 400-feet.

The Cardinals have now lost three games in a row and suffered their 14th defeat in the past 24 games bringing them back to .500 for the first time since late June.

According to FanGraphs, St. Louis has just a 9.3% chance of making the postseason.

The Kansas City Royals were clobbered by the Minnesota Twins 13-3.

Salvador Perez homered in the sixth inning for Kansas City.

The Royals are 2-7 against Minnesota this year with four more games still to play after Tuesday night, including Wednesday’s series finale.

The Royals have lost all three series against Minnesota this season thus far and have not won a series at Target Field since September 2021.

Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Hollywood Brown is expected to miss 4-6 weeks from the injury sustained in the first play of Saturday night’s preseason opener, a 26-13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Brown will not need surgery, however rehab is required to stabilize his shoulder.
