The Cardinals went down to the Cincinnati Reds last night 5-1. Former St. Louis catcher Austin Romine hit a two-run homer.

Albert Pujols went 0 for 2 and was hit by a pitch from Justin Dunn that caromed off his chest and caught his right forearm in the second inning.

The Cincinnati Reds will honor St. Louis Cardinals’ Pujols and Yadier Molina in a pre-game ceremony today, the last in Cincinnati for both players, who are set to retire at the end of the season. Game time is 5:40pm.

Left-handed pitchers Jose Quintana and Mike Minor will open.

Last night the Kansas City Royals gave the Chicago White Sox their fifth straight loss, 9-7.

Salvador Perez and Michael A. Taylor each homered and drove in three runs for the Royals, while Rookie Nick Pratto hit two home runs, making a career-high four-hit performance, including a double and three RBI.

Kansas City is at Chicago at 7:10pm. Left-hander Kris Bubic for the Royals vs Right-hander Lance Lynn for the White Sox.

North Callaway had their season opener softball game last night against South Callaway. South Callaway came away with the win, 8-2 in eight innings.

Also last night, Mexico girls’ tennis lost to Marshall, Final Score: 4-5.
