Mexico, Missouri Couple Raises Thousands of Dollars for Rainbow House
Over twenty five thousand dollars will be going to the Rainbow House in Columbia thanks to the efforts from a Mexico, Missouri couple.
In a competition with each other Kent Henry and his wife Sarah Vanskike held separate fundraisers to help the Rainbow House raise money after the organization had to cancel it’s biggest fundraiser of the year due to COVID-19.
In April Kent Henry agreed to shave one strip of hair from his head for each gift of $50.
At the end of April he had raised more than eleven thousand dollars.
Last month, Sarah started a campaign to either save her hair or shave her head.
She raised more than fourteen thousand dollars and the shave came out ahead by less than three hundred dollars.
100 percent of the money will go to the Rainbow House which helps keep children safe and supports families in crisis.
