City of Vandalia Without Power Since Monday Afternoon

The City of Vandalia is without power after a tree fell on power lines and a pole fire yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

According to one Vandalia resident the outage started around 3:30 yesterday (Monday) afternoon, came back on for a short period and was lost again.

The outage has been ongoing for over 14 hours.

The City of Vandalia has posted on the Facebook Page around 8 this morning that Central Electric and Consolidated Electric and city crews have been working through the night to restore power and at this time they are hooking up a portable transformer.

The City of Vandalia was unavailable for comment as to when the power might be restored.
