One Dead After Jefferson City House Fire

One person is dead from injuries in a Jefferson City House fire last night.

Fire crews went to the fire in the 1000 Block of Laurel Drive around 6:12.

The Jefferson City Fire Department says crews quickly located a victim, who was taken to the hospital and later died due to their injuries.

The cause of the fire is being ruled as accidental, and started in or around the fire place on the first floor.
