Jefferson City Assault and Pursuit

A 30 year old Jefferson City resident is in the Cole County Jail accused of assaulting a woman with a knife and then taking police on a chase.

According to Jefferson City Police they went to the 3800 block of Candlelight Drive and found a 25 year old woman suffering from several knife wounds.

She provided the name and vehicle description of the suspect and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police were able to find the vehicle moments later on US Highway 50.

The driver reportedly would not stop and a pursuit ensued, ending in a crash at the 100 block of Ventura, after stop sticks were deployed.

A taser was used and the suspect was arrested.

Police say during a search of the vehicle the knife described by the victim used in the assault was found.
