Boone County Fair Opening Day

The opening day of the annual Boone County Fair starts today (Tuesday) in Sturgeon.

Fair-goers will have to deal with extreme heat as an excessive heat watch is in effect for the area until Saturday.

Boone County Fire Protection District will have people on site at the fair to deal with heat-related emergencies, plus two air conditioned buildings are available with different exhibits to view for people to cool off in.

Events this year include livestock competitions, a carnival, and pageants.
