Standoff In Columbia Ends In Arrest

A person is now in police custody after a lengthy standoff overnight (Wednesday) in Columbia.

After responding to a theft Columbia Officers say a person took them on a foot chase on Demaret Drive.

The suspect then barricaded himself inside a house.

After several hours law enforcement breached the door and the suspect surrendered according to officers.

The person who has not been identified yet is believed to have been involved in several recent thefts.
