Arson Trial for Columbia Man Begins

A trial is underway this (Tuesday) morning at the Boone County Court House for a man suspected of arson in an alleged 2014 conspiracy to commit murder in Columbia.

42 year old James R. Hall is accused of deliberately setting a fire at the back door of a trailer at 3406 Rock Quarry Road that left a woman with second degree burns.

Hall told investigators that another person charged in the case Mehrdad Fotoohighiam offered to pay him five hundred dollars to set the blaze because of a feud with the trailer’s owner.

The jury trial is expected to last three days.
