Judge Bars Medication Induced Abortions In Columbia and Springfield

A federal judge has ruled that Planned Parenthood in Columbia and Springfield will not be allowed to provide medication inducted abortions at the clinics.

Judge Beth Phillips made the decision yesterday [Monday] after the organization failed to prove that enough women will be denied access to abortions under state rules that went into effect last year.

The regulations require providers of the medication abortions to find doctors with admitting privileges at a local hospital who would be available at all times to treat a complication.
