A Fulton man was arrested today [Friday] after a report a child had bruises and welps that appeared to have come from a belt.

According to the police department, 22 year old Derek Dale Ewing was taken into custody at 11:20. The abuse allegedly took place within the Fulton City Limits.

He was taken to the Callaway County Jail.
